Make A Meal Board
A great way to help with your weekly meal planning is by making yourself a board where you can visualize your schedule for the week. Having a plan laid out in front of you will make it more likely that you will stick to the plan instead of diverting to take out. Make things as simple as possible and you’ll have a reason to stick to your plan.
Have a space on your board for your shopping list. It might actually be easiest to tack a memo pad onto your board so you can jot down all of your ingredients as you plan, but then you can take the list with you to the grocery store. Keeping your list nearby will allow you to write down anything you will need while you are looking up recipes and menu ideas.
Days Of The Week
Divide up your board into days of the week. You’ll need a spot for each meal of the day, and plenty of space to write things down. Don’t feel like you have to plan an entire meal for each day of the week. You are free to plan for leftovers and free-for-all nights when everyone is on their own. But having a space to write that down will remind you what you had planned for that night.
Organize Your Recipes
Organize your recipes somewhere so that you can get to them when you need them. If you deal better with paper, print them out and attach them to your board so that you have them when you go to cook this week. If it is a recipe you use often, you might want to consider laminating them so that they stay in readable condition. If you prefer using digital media, put them all in one place on your tablet for easy access.
